Terms of Service & User Agreement
Welcome to Ownns. By creating an account or accessing the Ownns platform, you enter into a legally binding contract under the Indian Contract Act, 1872.
1. Age Requirement & Eligibility (18+)
You must be at least 18 years of age to access or register on Ownns. By continuing, you affirm that you possess full legal capacity under Indian law to enter into binding residential rental agreements. Access by minors is strictly prohibited.
2. Platform Nature & Zero Brokerage Service
Ownns is an independent peer-to-peer technology platform that connects residential tenants directly with property owners in Jodhpur. Ownns is not a real estate broker, landlord, tenant, or financial escrow agent.
The platform is 100% free for users at launch. Ownns never collects security deposits, token money, or commissions.
3. In-App Chat Moderation & Investigation Rights
To maintain a safe, trusted, and respectful environment, you explicitly agree that:
- Report & Complaint Verification: In terms of reports, user complaints, harassment alerts, or suspected malpractice and misbehavior, Ownns administrators and safety teams have the explicit authority to inspect and review your in-app chat communications.
- Zero Tolerance for Harassment: Accounts engaging in extortion, abusive conduct, discrimination, fraudulent demands, or offline threats will be permanently banned immediately, and severe infractions may be reported to local law enforcement.
4. Listing Moderation & Disclaimer of Title
All property listings must undergo administrative review before publication. While moderation reviews photos and verifies address documents, moderation does not constitute government land title verification, structural audit, or legal warranty of ownership.
Tenants are strictly advised to inspect properties in person and verify lease documentation independently before entering any financial transaction.
5. Strictly Prohibited User Activities
- Demanding or transferring advance token payments before physical property visits.
- Submitting forged, stolen, or fraudulent electricity bills or identity proofs.
- Circumventing platform communication rules by posting external contact links in public listing titles.
- Posting commercial brokerage solicitations or broker advertisements.
6. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising out of the use of Ownns shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Jodhpur, Rajasthan.
